Security gate questions, answered
- What is a security walk gate?
- A fully welded industrial aluminum gate with a solid security infill — expanded metal or perforated metal — instead of open pickets. They control access at dumpster enclosures, pool equipment yards, utility and telecom sites, self-storage, and commercial building entries.
- How much does a custom security gate cost?
- Materials typically run from about $2,100 for a 4′ × 5′ H-frame gate to $4,500+ for a 5′ × 8′ box frame with premium hinges, before installation. The configurator prices your exact frame, size, infill, and hardware instantly.
- What frame styles are available?
- Three welded-industrial frames: the box frame (closed perimeter with a barred top band), the H frame (framed top and bottom with a mid-rail), and the U frame (three-sided). Openings of 4′ and 5′, heights from 5′ to 8′.
- Which infill should I choose?
- ¾″ expanded metal is the standard security mesh; ½″ expanded tightens the openings for higher security; ½″ perforated metal (round holes on staggered centers) gives the cleanest architectural look and the most visual privacy. All three are welded in with trim.
- Can I put a code lock on it?
- Yes — frames can be prepped for mechanical code locks and keyed locksets (Locinox-style hardware). Choose hinges in the configurator — from self-closing barrel hinges to 180-degree and heavy Mammoth hinges — and note your lock preference on the quote.
- Do you install security gates near me?
- We professionally install in the Wilmington NC area and in Zebulon and the surrounding Raleigh / Triangle region. Outside our install area we can deliver the finished gate for your installer, or hold it for branch pickup.
