Returnable Items
  • Unopened, unused fence panels in original packaging
  • Unopened hardware and accessories
  • Unused posts in original condition
  • Gates that have not been installed
  • Tools and equipment in original packaging
Non-Returnable Items
  • Custom-cut or special-order items
  • Items that have been installed or altered
  • Items damaged due to improper storage
  • Items returned after 30 days
  • Concrete, adhesives, and other consumables
  • Clearance or final sale items
How to Return an Item

    Contact Us

    Email us at returns@howtobuildfence.com or call us with your order number and reason for return. We'll provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

    Package Your Return

    Repackage items in their original packaging if possible. Include your RMA number and a copy of your receipt or order confirmation.

    Ship Your Return

    Ship items to the address provided with your RMA. For freight items, we'll arrange pickup. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the return is due to our error.

    Receive Your Refund

    Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll process your refund within 5-7 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive damaged or defective items, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage.

We will arrange for replacement at no additional cost, including shipping. Do not discard packaging until the claim is resolved.

Wrong Item Received

If you received the wrong item, contact us immediately. We'll send the correct item and provide a prepaid shipping label for the return.

Please keep the item in its original packaging until we arrange for pickup or provide return instructions.

Restocking Fee

A 15% restocking fee may apply to returns that are not due to our error. This fee helps cover the cost of inspection, repackaging, and restocking of returned items. Freight shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a defective product.
