Why can't V-track go on asphalt?

The track has to anchor to something that will not move or deform, and asphalt does both in heat and under load. Concrete is required where the track runs. If your drive is asphalt or gravel, a cantilever gate is the right tool instead.

What hardware comes with it?

The A-frame, V wheels, and the V-catch receiver — the core rolling and latching hardware for the system. Site-specific items get sorted at quote time.

How does V-track compare to cantilever?

V-track is the simpler, lower-cost slide gate, and because the gate does not carry a counterbalance it needs less room along the fence line. The cost is the ground track: concrete required, and it must stay clear of leaves, ice, and gravel to roll right.

Can I automate a V-track gate?

V-track gates are routinely run with operators. Flag it when you request your quote so the gate and operator specs are matched up front rather than bolted together later.

What upkeep should I expect?

Keep the track swept and clear — that is the whole job. The aluminum itself is powder-coated and will not rust, so there is no painting or rust patrol in your future.
