- The gate is built in the same stepped top style as the panels. Ordering them together from the same run is the best way to keep the pattern and color consistent across the whole fence.
- How long does production take?
- It is made to order, typically 4 to 6 weeks. Plan the gate into your original order rather than adding it later — a separate order means a separate wait.
- Is stepped top more private than other picket styles?
- No — it is still an open picket gate with gaps between pickets. The step pattern changes the silhouette, not the screening. For privacy, look at the closed picket or privacy styles in our vinyl fence line.
- What does the gate hang on?
- A 4x4 vinyl gate post reinforced with an aluminum insert. That combination handles hinge loads for the long haul; an unreinforced vinyl post will eventually lean.
- Is vinyl strong enough for a gate that gets heavy use?
- Yes, provided the post and hardware are specced right — the post is almost always what fails, not the gate. Tell us how the gate will be used and we will match the hardware to it.
