Roller Cantilever Slide Gates
The cantilever slide gate is what you build when the driveway is sloped, gravel, or too wide to swing. A shop-welded steel tube frame about one-and-a-half times the opening rolls sideways on nylon rollers set on two ground posts, so nothing ever touches the driveway.
How it works
The gate frame is roughly one-and-a-half times the opening. Two ground-set posts carry four nylon cantilever rollers; the extra length (the tail) counterbalances the leaf so it hangs in the air across the opening with no track on the ground.

- Snow, leaves or debris that would foul a ground track

- How much room does a cantilever gate need beside the opening?
- About one-and-a-half times the opening, in a straight line along the fence. A 16′ opening needs roughly 24′ of run — the 16′ leaf plus an 8′ counterbalance tail — on one side.
- What are the rollers?
- Industrial nylon cantilever roller assemblies (Loadmaster-type, with safety covers) mounted in pairs on two ground-set posts. They carry the gate through the tail, so the leaf hangs clear of the ground across the whole opening.
