Common questions about the Aluminum Post Insert

Do I need an insert at every post?

No. Line posts carrying standard panels usually do not need reinforcement. Use inserts at gate posts, and consider them at corners and on tall privacy runs in windy or coastal areas.

Which posts does it fit?

It is sized for 4x4 vinyl posts at 108 inches, the standard post in our vinyl fence line. Running a different post size, contact us before ordering and we will sort out the right part.

When does the insert get installed?

Before the post is set. The insert slides inside the vinyl post, then the post goes in the hole and gets concreted as usual. Doing it in that order takes seconds; doing it after the fact is a headache.

Will the aluminum corrode inside the post?

Aluminum does not rust the way steel does, and inside the post it is shielded from weather entirely. It will outlast the fence around it.

How long does it take to ship?

About 10 business days — faster than made-to-order vinyl panels and gates, which typically run 4 to 6 weeks. Order everything together and the inserts will not be the holdup.
